Why should I pay you to teach my child to ride?

When Jane first suggested the idea of starting up a business where we taught children to ride bikes, my initial response was:

“That’s never going to work - why would people pay us money to teach their children to ride bikes when they can just do it themselves?!”

However, after a little convincing, I went with it, and in August 2017 we took the plunge and put on our first group learn to ride session. Only 5 children were booked on for this session (2 of which being the children of one of my friends) and so, as a full time teacher, I still needed a little more proof that this was going to be worth my time!

As soon as we completed our first block of sessions, and we had started posting photos on Facebook, the enquiries all started to go a little bit crazy and we found ourselves fully booked every single weekend and in our first year taught over 1000 children how to ride their bikes. Not only were we actually running a successful business, but we absolutely loved what we were doing!

At CycleBuddie, we take the stress and upset that can quite often come from teaching your children to ride their bikes away, and instead allow you to stand back and watch it happen - a much more enjoyable experience for all involved!

One parent once said to us:

“As a parent, we need to pick our battles - this is one I’m willing to let someone else fight for me!”

…which is something that has resonated with us ever since.

Very much in the same way that we pay for someone to teach our children to swim, dance, play football, drive etc, we are able to teach your children to ride their bikes confidently and independently in a fun and engaging way. We all know our children behave so much differently for teachers and learning to ride a bike is no exception. Where they may cry, throw their bike down and shout at you that they never want to ride a bike ever again, at CycleBuddie they smile sweetly, brush themselves off and keep going until we tell them it’s time to stop! And as much as we love being described as magical miracle workers, this, along with a few of our top secret techniques, is the key to successfully teaching your children to ride their bikes - tantrum free!

And although our prices may look at little steep at first glance, we are teaching a skill that will last a lifetime! Once your child has received their pedal medal (usually within 3 sessions or less), you don’t ever need to come back again! Unless you want to of course - we regularly have very disappointed children when they find out they have completed their final session as they want to keep coming back every week!
